Armored Core VR: Does It Exist? The Best Alternatives on Quest
Short answer: Armored Core VR does not exist. Armored Core VI has no official VR mode, and because it runs on FromSoftware's own engine rather than Unreal, the UEVR injector that turns so many PC games into VR does not work on it. The closest the community has come is a first-person camera mod combined with vorpX or Virtual Desktop head tracking on PC, which is a flat game strapped to your face rather than a real VR game. If what you want is the feel of Armored Core on a Quest headset, the parts that matter, build depth, boost movement and boss duels, are spread across a handful of native Quest games, and we cover the best of them below.
Armored Core 6 VR: what exists and what does not
At the time of writing, FromSoftware has not announced VR support for Armored Core VI, and there is no Quest version of any Armored Core game.
The reason the usual PC VR trick fails is technical. UEVR works by hooking into Unreal Engine's renderer. Armored Core VI is built on FromSoftware's in-house engine, so there is nothing for UEVR to hook.
What does exist is a community first-person camera mod. Some players pair it with vorpX or Virtual Desktop's head tracking so the camera follows their head. That gets you a first-person view on a virtual screen inside a headset. It does not give you motion controls, hand presence or comfort options tuned for VR. We would not recommend it as anyone's first VR experience.

What Armored Core fans actually want from VR
When we talk to AC players about VR, the same three things come up.
- Build depth. Choosing parts where every gain costs you something: weight, energy, speed or armor.
- Boost movement. Quick boosts, assault boosts and vertical bursts that make a heavy machine feel fast.
- Boss duels. One-on-one fights against a named opponent that you learn, lose to and eventually beat.
No Quest game does all three the way Armored Core does; several do one or two well.

MECHA: build trade-offs and boost-like movement
MECHA is our game, so weigh that as you read. It is an arena combat sport where you pilot a 200-ton flying mech and climb a career ladder from Rookie to All-Star. The part AC fans respond to is the mod system: every mod gives you something and costs you something elsewhere. We explain it in our MECHA mod guide. Movement is lean-based, so a sharp lean is a dash or a dodge, which is the nearest thing to a quick boost we have felt in VR. Rival pilots carry bounties and show up as duels. It is single-player only, with AI rivals and AI teammates. Verdict: the best fit for build depth and boost movement on Quest, if you accept an arena sport rather than a mission campaign.
UNDERDOGS: the fight-league duel
UNDERDOGS puts you in an underground mech fight league where you drive the machine with your arms. Each run is a roguelike, so your upgrade choices shape how the next fight plays out, and the bouts have the punishing, learn-the-opponent feel that AC boss fights have. It is single-player and rated 4.8 from over 3,000 reviews at time of writing. Verdict: if the boss duel is what you miss most, start here.
Vox Machinae: the heavy option
Vox Machinae is the MechWarrior-like of the Quest library: a full cockpit, deliberate movement, and a sense of tonnage that faster games do not try for. It has a single-player campaign, added in 2022, plus online multiplayer. It does not have Armored Core's speed. Verdict: for AC fans who lean toward heavy builds and want a cockpit to sit in.
Mecha Force: boss fights in an anime mech
Mecha Force is a single-player roguelike melee action game with an anime-style KYLIN mech and a cockpit view. It is in Early Access, and the store lists comfort as moderate, so start with short sessions. The boss fights are the draw. Verdict: the cheapest route to a proper VR mech boss fight.
Iron Rebellion: if you want other humans
Iron Rebellion is 8v8 cockpit mech combat built around online play, with bots available for solo practice. It is the opposite of Armored Core's solo focus, but the cockpit and the weight of the machines will feel familiar. Verdict: the pick if your AC itch is really a multiplayer mech itch.

FAQ
Is there an Armored Core 6 VR mod?
There is no true VR mod. A community first-person camera mod exists, and some people combine it with vorpX or Virtual Desktop head tracking on PC. That is a flat game viewed in a headset, not a VR conversion.
Does UEVR work with Armored Core 6?
No. UEVR only works with Unreal Engine games, and Armored Core VI runs on FromSoftware's own engine.
What VR games are like Armored Core on Quest?
For build trade-offs and fast movement, MECHA. For one-on-one duels and roguelike upgrades, UNDERDOGS. For heavy cockpit combat, Vox Machinae. For boss fights on a budget, Mecha Force.
Will Armored Core come to VR?
Nothing has been announced at the time of writing. We will update this post if that changes.
